Denison was fairly quiet bird-wise but lovely in about 5-6” of snow this morning. Best was 2 calling Hermit Thrushes by some berries. They were squabbling a bit as well. Saw a few Bluebirds and Robins. A few sparrows—White-throated, Song & one Tree Sparrow.
I drove around the Tagg Rd area and found lots of Horned Larks along the roadsides. There was an annoying amount of traffic so the flocks kept getting flushed which made it difficult to sort through them but I managed to see a couple Lapland Longspurs in one flock but never saw any Snow Buntings.
Saw a small group of Tree Sparrows also feeding along the road. Only raptors were one kestrel & one female N Harrier. I thought about heading to galena & oxbow afterwards but there was a major wreck at the Clover Valley rd intersection blocking N bound traffic so I headed home instead, spotting an adult Bald Eagle flying around not far off Moots Run Rd.
Nothing unusual at my feeders so far except a couple juncos which usually show up when it snows.
