While mopping up several OBBA blocks nearby, I stopped at the Slate Run Wetlands and was rewarded with 3 Black Terns in the wetlands around the boardwalk part of the loop. The birds were perching, flying, and feeding, and appeared quite content (so they may stay for a bit). Other birds of note included:

Great Egret - 1
Green Herons - 3
Wood Ducks - several females with broods of large young
Pied-billed Grebe - 1 calling
E.Kingbirds - 4+
Willow Flycatchers - 2-3 calling
Tree Swallows - 40+
Bank Swallows - 10
Rough-winged Swallows - 4
Purple Martins - 10

The water was high in most of the wetlands, so this will not be a good shorebird spot for a while yet. It was difficult to accurately estimate swallow numbers, since the intermittent rain this morning caused a lot of them to sit. There may have been many more that I overlooked. Oddly enough, Rough-wings were much more common along roads outside the park, mostly near Little Walnut Creek.
Although there were lots of singing Field & Song Sparrows, there were no other interesting sparrows. There were also no Sedge Wrens, despite what appears to be acres of habitat.
