I checked Evans L. and Pine L. in eastern Mahoning Co. yesterday.  There were a lot of ring-billed gulls around, and a pretty good variety of other waterbirds.  At Evans L.: 6 tundra swans, redhead, 10 buffleheads, c. goldeneye, 50 hooded mergansers, 140 ruddy ducks, c. loon, 3 pied-billed grebes, horned grebe, 2 imm. bald eagles (1 was carrying prey - a coot), 10 Am. coots, 2000+ ring-billed gulls, 40 herring gulls, and an adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL.  At Pine L.: n. pintail, 30 hooded mergansers, 80 ruddy ducks, 2 c. loons, 2 pied-billed grebes, 8 horned grebes, and 500 ring-billed gulls.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
