I just had a call from a group of birders from Holmes County who have been observing an unusual gull at E. 72nd Street. The bird appears to be an adult, with field marks pointing to Western Gull. The head is white with virtually no streaking - size the same as Herring Gulls, pink legs, mantle darker than Herring but not as dark as Lesser Black-backed Gull. Help with identification and getting photos would be appreciated.
