A Roseate Spoonbill has been seen the last 2 nights around 8:00PM at Eli Schlabach's farm pond at 6531 Township Rd 362, Millersburg near Time & Optics. This is just NW of Bunker Hill in Holmes County. One neighbor boy claims to have seen the bird as early as Tuesday, 7/17. Both Saturday and Sunday the spoonbill arrived at the pond at around 8:00PM and was not there during the day. Birders are welcome to park at Eli's shop and walk south along 362 to look back behind his shop to the pond which is west of 362 and north of 207. Do not walk behind the shop as this will cause many dogs to bark and spook the bird. There doesn't appear to be much reason yet to try during business hours but if you do please don't block his business traffic. Additionally, last night around 9PM the bird was rediscovered in a ditch just west on Road 207. This ditch would be at the second small bridge to the west of 362 on 207. All is private property so all birding must be done from the quiet country road with parking an option at Eli's place.
