I went to Old Field this morning in South Chagrin. I saw an adult bald eagle
fly up the Chagrin River as I neared the north edge of the field and entered
the evergreens (about 8:35 am). The titmice were really singing up a storm
in this area. Walking back south there was one gold-crowned kinglet working
the low branches on a mostly-dead cedar near the trail leading back to the
parking area. I was right next to the tree when I spotted the bird. I had to
step back to use my binoculars on it.

There were a number of birds to the south near the Chagrin Road parking lot
where the trail splits to go under the bridge or towards the lot. Morning
doves, titmice, chickadees, two blue jays, a male cardinal, four juncos, a
hairy woodpecker and a red-bellied woodpecker. There must be something
really good in this area.

(I left my hiking boots in my car last night. Bad idea. I really got a jolt
when I put them on at the park! Brrr! Don't do that!)
