One of the things that we noticed while down in Sanibel Island is that the
Native Mourning Doves were being displaced in the urban areas by the
Collared Dove.  As you drive out into the country, MODOs would reappear.
So it would be what you determine as a pest I guess...Which would you
rather have come to your feeder...Native Mourning Doves or introduced
Collared Doves...Before you answer...Think House Sparrows and Blue Birds...

From a counting perspective, I would count them just like I counted the
Mandarin Ducks we had a few weeks ago.  eBird them as a way to monitor the
spread of introduced species, so that if questions arise in the future, a
trail can be traced back to the begining.
