Hi,

We found a single Louisiana Waterthush, in Stebbins' Gulch, at the Holden
Arboretum this morning.  We expect their return here on the northern edge
of their breeding range on or about April 1st.  This particular bird seemed
to be just arrived and moving along what we know to be an established
territory from study in previous years and did the typical move up stream
in front of us, then circle back behind us, behavior which is typical of
birds with set territories.

The high water quality in Stebbins' is excellent Louisiana Waterthrush
habitat and during the height of the breeding season we will find as many
as 6 territories along the gulch spaced at regular 300 meter intervals.
