I spent several hours birding at Mosquito L. today.  Found on and around the lake: Canada geese (hundreds), 250+ mallards, 27 Am. black ducks, 200 gadwalls, 7 Am. wigeon, 15 n. shovelers, 30 green-winged teal, 100 ring-necked ducks, 8 greater scaup (rare inland in fall), 20 lesser scaup, female surf scoter, 16 buffleheads, 20 c. goldeneyes, 32 hooded mergansers, 7 red-breasted mergansers, 30 ruddy ducks, 19 c. loons, 6 pied-billed grebes, 3 double-crested cormorants, great blue heron, great egret (late), 3 bald eagles, 4 red-tailed hawks, Cooper's hawk, 200 Am. coots, 100+ Bonaparte's gulls, ring-billed gulls (hundreds), 35 herring gulls, red-headed woodpecker, red-bellied woodpeckers, e. bluebirds, golden-crowned kinglet, and c. grackles.  On the way home, I spotted a n. mockingbird in Hubbard Twp. in SE Trumbull Co.  Later, Craig
