I birded Mohican State Park this morning and early afternoon (May 25). A
delightful day to be out - sunny and cool.

Key songbirds heard or seen:
Flycatchers: acadian, E. phoebe, E. wood peewee
Thrush: Swainson's, wood, veery (many singing)
Warblers: N. parula, yellow, chestnut-sided, black-throated green,
cerulean, worm-eating, ovenbird, Louisiana waterthrush, Kentucky, hooded.
I worked hard to see several singing worm-eating and Kentucky warblers, but
could never see them.
Also saw singing scarlet tanager. Heard several yellow-billed cuckoos, but
could never see them either.
Hard to see the forest birds when the leaves are fully out, but still great
to hear them well. Randy Rowe, Wooster
