Hello,

Yesterday afternoon at Prairie Oaks MP I saw a pretty good list of birds:

Ruddy Duck – 4

Ring-necked Duck – 8, all female

Scaup species – 1, female

Bufflehead – 1, female

Horned Grebe – 4, incl. 1 breeding plumage

Pied-billed Grebe – 2

Hooded Merganser - 4

Killdeer – 8

Wilson’s Snipe – 1

Tree Swallow – 2

Northern Flicker - 2

Brown Creeper – 2

Golden-crowned Kinglet – 8

Eastern Phoebe – 1

Swamp Sparrow – 2

Plus the usual Cardinals, Song Sparrows, Field Sparrows, Titmice,
Chickadees, R-b Woodpeckers, Downy Woodpeckers, Red-tailed Hawks, Turkey
Vultures, Goldfinches, Mourning Doves, R-w Blackbirds, and Starlings.

I listened carefully for Yellow-throated Warblers and Louisiana
Waterthrushes along the river where there are many sycamores, but heard
none.

Good birding and the best is yet to come.
