Striking out on everything else! Been one of those weeks…. Missed the
Pelicans yesterday in Kentucky. Oh well! The Martin was at voa. Flying around.
Hit Butler. I only had a few hours this afternoon. The field along the entry
Road at VOA is flooded enough for shorebirds. But none today.
Good, because Ellis wetlands
Is still a pond. Although the east side is more like wet fields. Although shorebird
Migration doesn’t really heat up for awhile. I scanned well for Vesper Sparrow!
No luck! That’s one species I don't know where to hit in Butler for. There’s
Been Vespers down here in Hamilton county. And a report or 2 from Butler!
I went chasing a mute swan for my big year - hmmmm…. chasing a mute swan….
Well! All the birds count this year! It’s like realizing I am missing rock pigeon
On a big day. I only have one mute swan sighting for butler. 2021. No luck…
They either moved behind islands there at Gilmore. Or flew on.
Hopefully April brings better success for me. And everyone!
Good birding all.
