Although not seen yesterday, the Common Loon was present at the north
end of Coe Lake this afternoon. It emerged with a good-sized fish after
a dive. Male Bufflehead and females also present at north end; Horned
Grebes in various locations.
There is a pair of Blue Jays nesting in a light fixture on the side of
our garage and they have built a very imaginative nest out of white
plastic electrical ties. I'd like to post a photo, but I have never
seen a photo attached to any email on the bird list, so I'm not sure it
is permitted--not sure why it wouldn't be, I've just never seen attached
photos, just links to photo websites.
