I chased the reported Black-bellied Whistling Duck at Hoover Dam this evening around 7:45pm. I ran into a few other birders looking for it but no one had seen it. I gather it was last seen near the dock area 4:30-5pm.

The dam area was pretty busy/noisy then someone decided to let their Rottweiler go swimming right by the playground & the large flock of Canada Geese & mallards that was mentioned in Tracy’s post so that scattered all the waterfowl.

If anyone sees the duck tomorrow, pls post to the listserve or to me privately. It would be an Ohio bird for me.

Thx,

Peggy Wang
