Had a very fruitful session this morning checking out Hoover Meadows Nature Preserve, adjacent to the eastern side of the Hoover Reservior. The usual resident warblers, Yellow and Yellow Throat were present in force. What capped the visit though, aside from my test-driving a new 500mm telephoto lens, was an American Bittern. I've been visiting this site for a number of years and this is my first. Three Green Herons were also around. Other notables were a Great Crested Flycatcher, and Yellow-throated Vireo.
