This AM the weather was kind and recent weather fronts have brought some migrants to SW Ohio. Most of the waterfowl at Cowan Lake (seven miles West of Wilmington on St. Rd. 730) could be seen from the swimming beach and this is the list:

8 Red-breasted Mergansers
12 Hooded Mergansers
6 Northern Shovelers
4 Green-winged Teal
9 Ruddy Ducks
200+ Mallards
1 Northern Pintail
4 Bufflehead
8 WILSON'S SNIPE they flew in and landed on the mud just as I was about to leave. They flew off when I got my scope out but
I re-located them and had a great look at them feeding ferociously. Made my day.
1 Common Loon
2 Horned Grebes
1 Kingfisher
15 Killdeer
52 Ring-billed Gullls
3 Herring Gulls
3 Great Blue Heron

Peace on Earth, Larry Gara
