On Sunday the 22nd I observed a Yellow-rumped Warbler and Northern Parula
foraging together on the ground on a heavily used trail in The Narrows
Greene County Park. The Parula also sang repeatedly while on the ground.
If this behavior catches on among the other warbler species, it will save
many stiff necks among the warbler-watching community. But I fear it may
be only a temporary phenomenon, so we best enjoy it while we can.
