A Eurasian Wigeon was along the Berlin Lake Bike Trail until at least late this evening. It was on the west side of the path a bit over 3/4 mile south of the trailhead on the south side of State Route 224 in Portage County. 5 White-winged Scoters were just north of there on the east side of the trail. There are about 20 species of ducks and numerous grebes, loons, etc here as well.Just east of the Bike Trail on the 224 causeway over Berlin Lake, many Herring Gulls were resting on the ice in the late evening. Among them was 1 1st cycle Great Black-backed, 4 adult Lesser Black-backed, 1 2nd cycle Glaucous, & 1 1st cycle Icleand. As many as 21 Bald Eagles have been seen along this causeway recently.
