Hi all,

Beth and I spent a few hours exploring the park today, hoping for fall
passerine migrants--not much in evidence. The main migrants here a handful
of late Monarch butterflies (this was the best year for Monarchs that we
have seen for a long time--I hope there will be sufficient woods when their
descendants arrive in Morelos)

There are lots of good late summer and autumn wildflowers--the great meadow
has really come a long way--thanks go to the people who have worked on this.

Here are the birds we saw or heard:

Canada Goose

71

Mallard

6

Domestic ducks

2

Mourning Dove

1

Double-crested Cormorant

24

Great Blue Heron

1

Turkey Vulture

2

Cooper's Hawk

2

Red-tailed Hawk

1

Red-headed Woodpecker

1

Red-bellied Woodpecker

4

Blue Jay

9

American Robin

5

Northern Cardinal

2

Best wishes
