Is that a word! I had wanted to see the blooms at chaparral prairie state nature
Preserve. Yes, they were excellent! Adams county. So I stopped at Adams
Lake state park for the Ruddy again. Well, it’s August now! Its still at the
Dam end. Very quiet bird wise there. And most spots. The usual suspects
Singing at the height of summer - Blue grosbeak, Common Yellowthroats,
Song Sparrows, etc. Summer Tanagers calling were nice. I drove home via
Bethel concord rd and the Neotropical corm. It was perched in its tree! Not
Out feeding. Excellent looks in my scope. And since I passed the Clermont
County airport driving home, I detoured. Only hardly anything!! For example -
1 Starling??!! Some year an Uppie will be there.
Nature notes - this might be the peak for butterfly diversity. Chaparral was
Loaded. Most unusual being a Giant Swallowtail.
Good birding all.
