Just to turn Dave Horn's observation into a trend, I had a Sandhill Crane juvenile not too far from his sighting location.  Mine was two days earlier, along Grant Run in S. Franklin County.  I had the bird soaring out of a field to join several Turkey Vultures trying to pick up altitude in the warm late morning air.  It had the brownish back of a first year juvenile, so I assumed it was just a laggard on migration, and didn't bother to look up how rare they were in central Ohio at this time of year.
