Greetings Birders,
Not much migrant activity here, just the summer regulars arriving here
and there. Yesterday the first Yellow Warblers showed up, and spotted
2 Yellow-rumped but no other migrating warblers. It was just nice to
see some warblers of any kind. But it was a good day for eagles, I saw
a total of 8 Bald Eagles around Pymatuning Lake yesterday, including a
pair with at least one eaglet in the nest.
This morning's first of season arrivals included a House Wren, Gray
Catbird, 3 Green Herons and a single male Bobolink on their breeding
ground, flying around the field and singing from the treetops.
Lots of wildflowers, trout-lilies flowering everywhere, also red
trillium and yellow violets. Bumblebees are out, as well as
dragonflies.
