Come out and join us this Saturday, July 2nd as we peruse the paths of West Creek Reservation in search of forty different species of birds at the second annual Firecracker 40. During last years event we were treated to a pair of Black Vultures, nesting Red-headed Woodpeckers, Wood Thrush and Eastern Bluebirds as we surpassed our target by tallying 45 species. 

Birders with all levels of experience are welcomed to participate, binoculars encouraged. We’ll point out some interesting facts about West Creek Reservation along the way and what is trending from a bird perspective at West Creek in 2016.

Anticipate a 2.5 mile hike, with mainly flat terrain.
