There were at least 4 Virginia Rail at Spring Valley WA yesterday near dusk.
John Habig, Rebecca Elefonte and I parked at the boardwalk lot, and walked
west on the (muddy) trail around the marsh, where two were seen past the
bend. At least two more vocalized at the end of the boardwalk, and were also
seen! We also viewed at least 3 Fox Sparrow, numerous Swamp Sparrows,
Red-winged Blackbirds and Rusty Blackbirds.
