Lots of snipe are still present, easy to see and very active at Frohring Meadows.
The vegetation has been cut down and there are lots of open areas in which you
can watch them probing the ground with their long bills. Also, 5 least sandpipers
were feeding on the little sand bars in the marsh. (How come these
peeps don't get any easier, year to year?) Other new arrivals were
a pair of green winged teal, and a first barn swallow.
