Greetings all - our first Local Patch Lake Erie trip of the season saw a fine day on the western basin to 17 miles offshore Port Clinton and 70 miles covered around the islands in both Ottawa and Erie Counties. The highlight was two juvenile Sabine's Gulls including one viewed at length and point blank. Bonaparte's Gulls and Common Terns are building in numbers, and a few Black Terns were scattered within. A single Lesser Black-backed Gull added an extra lift to the gull list. A distant look at Chick Island (looking from USA into Ontario waters) turned up at least 9 American White Pelicans.
