Just a quick note from this past week's Drive By Birding dept. Horned
larks were plentiful this week. With several that decided to pause and
wait for a photographer to get a few pictures. :-) here is link to a
couple that were taken on Wennimac Pike in Marion Co.:

Also I decided to take the long way to work(wich means staying on state
routes.) So, while driving through York Center, I saw a snow bunting
among the throng of horned larks feeding at the pig farm on 739. Just
before getting to Raymond on 739, a male Pheasant was trying to cross
the road...I don't think he ever made it because the next day, he was
trying to do the same thing. :-) You can add your own chicken/pheasant
joke here.

Hawks and Kestrels have also been plentiful throughout my drive this
week. I have noticed that I see them more on days when contrast is
higher...that would be sunny/bright light days.

That's about it.

See you out there :-)
