It was a birdy weekend in Meigs County. Brown Thrashers are now singing loudly everywhere. Several groups of Purple Martins were moving through the area. I saw two extremely active and vocal Winter Wrens as well as several singing Ruby crowned Kinglets. Yesterday I had my first Blue Gray Gnatcatcher flitting around the woods, and in Athens County, I saw an adult Bald Eagle flying south along the Hocking River between Athens and Nelsonville.
Still waiting for the first Whip-poor-will...
