I decided since the morning had been so good at Denison that I would try again late in the afternoon just to see what was around. I was rewarded by getting good looks at two more species for the day: FOS Prairie and Hooded. Must be my fall best for Denison.
The Hooded even perched up in some sun so I could get some pictures which was sort of unbelievable. I ran into one good-sized flock off the Woodcock Trail just as the sun was going down. Everywhere else it was pretty quiet. Saw 3-4 Swainson’s Thrushes and a Brown Thrasher which was chasing catbirds away from its berry store.
