The steady rain depressed most bird numbers at these two hot-spots south of
Columbus this morning, but you could still find interesting birds. Among
the best finds were:

Waterfowl - surprisingly few, despite the 'ducky' weather. Mallards were
in most spots. Cruiser Pond also had a big flock of geese, Winchester Lake
had 1 Bufflehead, and Mallard Marsh at Pick Ponds had small #s of Teal and
Wigeons.

Eagle - an adult Bald Eagle was perched at Greenwing Pond in Pick
Ponds...probably explaining why this pond was empty of waterfowl

Gulls - a large flock of 300+ gulls - mostly Bonapartes, but with some
Ring-bills, and 1-2 Herring -- had descended upon Ellis Pond at Pick
Ponds. Probably something rarer in such a group, but the rain made viewing
difficult for me at that point.

Brown Creepers - 1-2 were along the bike path at 3-Creeks Confluence area,
despite the rain

Sparrows - small numbers of Songs and White-throats at most spots, but
3-Creeks had a Field Sparrow, and Pick Ponds had 2-3 Tree Sparrows
