Not much at Beaver Marsh today at CVNP. A very cold-looking Great Blue Heron was hanging out past the big pond near the flowing creek.
Small numbers of Robins & E Bluebirds. A White-thr Sparrow was eating some fruit (persimmons?) dangling from a tree. Not sure I've ever seen a sparrow eating fruit.
O/w, just chickadees, Song Sparrows, Downy and RB WPs.
Only raptor was a Red-tailed.
At my feeders, I had one Grackle & one Red-winged Blackbird a few days ago--none before or since. Both were eating oil sunflower seeds. The RW BB even perched on the feeder to eat them. The Fox Sparrow was a regular for several days but I haven't seen it for 4-5 days now. I'm hoping it didn't fall prey to the Cooper's or Sharpie that shot thru the area today after a male cardinal. Not sure who won that chase...
