I started off this hummingbird season with a bang, having my first visitor in
late April. About 3 weeks ago, I had 5 feeders up and was ducking as the
hummers zipped past me on the front deck each evening. I counted at least 12,
but suspected there were more. Now, I am down to just a couple. In a thread on
the Purple Martin Conservation Association's site, several others report the
same sudden decrease in numbers.
