Today, toiling in the fields and woods, pulling garlic mustard, I alarmed
a woodcock that had it's little leafy nest only feet from where I was crawling 
around in the underbrush.

She flushed, and I had a look at the nest, and found that she had been 
sitting on three eggs.

There are lots of woodcocks here, but this is only the second time that i've actually
found a nest.
