Greetings -

A morning flight count at Huntington Reservation (Cuyahoga County, Cleveland Metroparks) from 8 am till 10 a.m. was highly successful with both White-winged and Red Crossbills, Pine Siskins, many goldfinches, several Common Redpolls, many House Finches, and a single male Evening Grosbeak, calling multiple times and affording great looks! All finches were on the move. The Siskins and redpolls stopped for a few minutes then pushed east. A Gray Catbird (late) was found foraging along a brushline, a good record. Between 8 am and 9 am, birds were moving heavily to the east. Robins and Red-winged Blackbirds were pushing through as well.
Many Common Loons were going back and forth high overhead.

From multiple locations along the lakefront, including Huntington, Rocky River Park, Edgewater State Park, East 55th, (close to 250 total) Horned Grebes, nearly 60 Common Loons, plus all three species of scoters in low numbers, some Scaup, a small flock of Tundra Swans, and fair numbers of Bonaparte's Gulls were found.

We managed 63 species for the day, with great variety.
