This morning I made a partial circuit of the north end of Hoover Reservoir
and the waterfowl diversity is improving. Species observed included Wood
Duck, American Wigeon, American Black Duck, Northern Shoveler, Northern
Pintail, Lesser Scaup, Bufflehead, Common Goldeneye, Hooded Merganser,
Red-breasted Merganser, Ruddy Duck, Pied-billed Grebe, Black-crowned Night Heron,
Bald Eagle, Barred Owl and Yellow-rumped Warbler. Numbers were good to
excellent for most species.
