While having a new furnace installed(whee.)I sat in the garden to relax and
was surprised to see a number of female Black-throated Blue Warblers eating
cherries from our tree. Then I paid more attention to the surrounding oaks
and spotted at least four Wilson's Warblers and a few Cape May Warblers, new
for our yard list.

We followed those up with a fly over of a Double-crested Cormorant, a
stretch, but we're counting that as a new yard bird as well. AND THEN...we
had a Veery pop up and say hello on our fence...another new yard bird...AND
THEN a Winter Wren sat in the shrubs on the side and sang to us...AND THEN a
Red-breasted Nuthatch crawled down the oak and honked at me.

A good day for yard birding...
