The American Bittern first found by Ken Andrews yesterday was still present at Station Road in the CVNP early this morning.

It was in the small wetland to the south just west of the old iron bridge at the trailhead. It took about 45 min of looking from 7:30-8:15 but it eventually came out in the open offering stunning looks.

Brian Tinker reported six Least Sandpiper yesterday at Seasons Road and Hwy 8 in the temporary mudflat at the SE corner of the intersection. There were two Least SP present this morning, one with an injured leg, as well as six Solitary SP, a single Spotted SP, and two Kildeer.
