Well, not quite an attack, but a lot of fun for me!
Standing on the porch this morning in wool slippers when a charming chickadee came by and was quite close poking around on the porch. At first I thought it was looking for spilled birdseed, then realized it was collecting nest material, picking up hairs and lint tufts from the dryer vent. As I watched it came closer and closer until it landed on my slipper and began pecking off small bits of wool! It stayed on my foot for almost 10 minutes, tolerated me moving my foot around, and only flew off when I had to go inside. I've put out some more wool tufts and hope they'll get noticed and utilized.
What a pleasing way to start off the day!
Otherwise, birdies are the regulars and no new migrants yet...junco, chipping sparrow, field sparrow, song sparrow, chickadee, cardinals by the score, yb sapsucker, pileated, hairy, downy, flicker, towhee, phoebe, barred and GH owls, nuthatch, titmouse, rw blackbirds, turkeys, woodcocks galore, purple and house finches, goldfinch. If ALL of the above decide to come peck at my slippers, simultaneously? Well, then I'll have to post some pics. :)

Enjoy the weather!

Britt
