Hi Everyone-

Zaleski State Forest is located in Vinton County and is about a 20 drive
from Athens.

I was able to get out for a few hours on Saturday and Sunday to see what I
could find-I wasn't disappointed. I probably had a total of 80 or so
species between the two days with the following highlights:

Eastern Wood Pewee
Great Crested Flycatcher
Acadian Flycatcher
Alder Flycatcher
Eastern Phoebe
Kentucky Warbler
Hooded Warbler
Black and White Warbler
Black Throated Green Warbler
Tennessee Warbler
Chestnut Sided Warbler
Ovenbird
Worm Eating Warbler
Yellow Throated Warbler
Yelllow Warbler
Northern Parula
American Redstart
Prairie Warbler
Common Yellowthroat
Cerulean Warbler (More abundant than I can ever recall-at least 30
individuals encountered)
Blue Winged Warbler
Prothonotary Warbler ( a first for me at Zaleski)
Yellow Breasted Chat
Red Eyed Vireo
Yellow Throated Vireo
White Eyed Vireo
Golden Crowned Kinglet
Wood Thrush
Hermit Thrush
Indigo Bunting
Baltimore Oriole
Summer Tanager
Scarlet Tanager
Red Headed Woodpecker
Hooded Merganser with 4 "Merglings"
Wood Duck with 6 Ducklings

And finally-not one but TWO Yellow Billed Cuckoos at the Furnace Trail.

Hope that everyone else had a good birding weekend.
