The Northern Shrike was seen on the John F. Gallagher Memorial Trail behind
the Black Swamp Bird Observatory building yesterday. We also have had about
18 species of birds at the feeders. Today in the rain we saw the Fox Sparrow
again along with lots of Rusty Blackbirds. Here is a list of the birds seen
by the Window on Wildlife and around our property the last couple of days.



1.      Cooper's Hawk
2.      Red-tailed Hawk
3.      Killdeer - fly-over's
4.      Mourning Doves
5.      Red-bellied Woodpecker - 1 male
6.      Downy Woodpeckers
7.      Northern Shrike - trail
8.      Blue jay
9.      American Crow - fly-over's
10.     Horned Lark - fly-over's
11.     Black-capped Chickadee
12.     Eastern Bluebird - fly-over's
13.     American Robin - fly-over's
14.     European Starlings
15.     Cedar Waxwing - in our Red Cedar tree
16.     American Tree Sparrows
17.     Fox Sparrow - 1 all winter long
18.     White-throated Sparrows
19.     White-crowned Sparrow
20.     Dark-eyed Junco
21.     Northern Cardinals
22.     Red-winged Blackbirds
23.     Rusty Blackbirds
24.     Common Grackles
25.     Brown-headed Cowbirds
26.     House Finch
27.     American Goldfinch
28.     House Sparrow
