A single male black scoter was with a flock of about 50 scaup and redheads,
viewed in excellent light from the end of the Harveysburg Road. Birds were
pretty far out on the lake, but orange bill of the scoter was quite
apparent with 60X on the scope. At one point a boat flushed the flock and
the scoter peeled off from the rest, coming in closer settling near a group
of 6-8 buffleheads.
