In light of the recent discussion about hummingbirds I thought I would report my current observations. Yesterday, October 7, I observed a ruby-throated hummingbird at our feeders three times. Each sighting was of a single individual, and in each case it was an immature or female, I figure probably an immature since we haven't seen any adult males in some time. It could be one, two or three birds. The first two were about an hour apart, roughly 1 PM and 2 PM. The third sighting was near dusk. I haven't seen any today, although I haven't been looking very consistently.
