At about 5PM today, Friday; we, along with Jeff and Marian Kraus, visited The Willow Point State Wildlife Area in extreme northwestern Erie County on Wahl Road. The highlights were 2 Wilson's Phalaropes and 2 Baird's Sandpipers. A nice variety of other shorebirds was also present, along with Eastern Kingbirds and Cedar Waxwings. To reach the impoundment, walk northwest from the parking lot, going between the buildings, and continuing to the dike. Follow it north to where the path goes left. You are there.

Bob and Denise Lane / Mahoning County
