The wicked west wind & snow squalls made birding interesting & v cold this morning. I was hoping for my FOS Osprey but dipped on that. I did get my FOS Blue-winged Teal, a lovely drake hanging out w/a pair of GW Teal. Also saw a pair of Sandhill Cranes fly in and one started to dance but it partner didn’t show much interest.

Good assortment of ducks at Wood Duck w/N Shoveler the most numerous:
N Shoveler
Bufflehead
Lesser Scaup
Ring-necked
Gadwall
Mallard
GW Teal
BW Teal
Hooded Merganser
Horned Grebe
Pied-billed Grebe
Coot

Only swan was Mute.

Saw one adult Bald Eagle on the nest. A couple of kestrels on the roadside wires. TVs.

Passerines mostly seen at the feeders but a couple bluebirds around. Feeder birds:
Com Grackles
RW Blackbird
House finch
WT Sparrow
Song Sp
House Sp
Mourning Doves

A pair of Canada Geese seemed determined to take over the Osprey platform at Ellis Pond.

Downright frigid for 2 days before spring.
