I had to be in Columbus today for something else & wandered around these areas to see what was around.

The teal trail at the wetlands was pretty productive. There were several ducks: Ruddy, Bufflehead (males doing rapid head bobs), mallards, Ring-necked, Green-winged Teal, one Redhead, and as I was watching the others, 4 Blue-winged Teal flew in, my FOY. There was also a pair of Trumpeter Swans and a number of Coots. I heard Pied-billed Grebe & a Virginia Rail did both its marvelous pig grunt as well as the kiddick call although I did not see it. Also saw/heard Eastern Meadowlark. the only sparrow was Song sparrow & of course numerous Red-winged BBs. Heard a Killdeer call.

And then went to Darby Bend Lakes where I picked up my FOY Osprey as well as Turkey and Black Vultures. Only a couple mallards and a distant scaup sp. A few Tree Swallows and more killdeer.
