Been slow! I keep hoping for a night heron to start flying. Not yet….
But I am enjoying spots down here. Tonight was Fernald. Lodge pond
Area - Wood Ducks and Mallards are starting to stage. I like numbers,
I had a Willow Fly actually singing. They aren't done yet. Kept an ear
Out for Sedge Wren. They are back. A very interesting read in the
Breeding bird atlas - how this species is a late summer bird here.
Interesting! Anyway, none for me. Greater Yellowlegs feeding at the
Pond. That pond looks good for shorebirds.
I hit Shaker Trace yesterday. I would have loved to join the walk there -
Maybe next year. Learn about the restoration efforts. I hit the late
Afternoon. The lake is covered. Pretty! But not conducive to a stray
Little Blue Heron.
Good birding all.
