The HockHocking Adena Bikeway is located within Athens Co. and runs along
an abandoned railroad bed (adjacent to the Hocking River) that links the
towns of Athens and Nelsonville.  We started our hike at the Athens County
Rd 4 intersection, York Township, locally known as the Glen Ebon area.
(80A1).

Birds seen and/or heard on a bird hike held the morning of May 10 include:
Great Blue Heron
Black Vultures
Turkey Vultures
Canada Goose
Broadwing Hawk - excellent view; low flyover
Mourning Dove
Pileated Woodpecker
Eastern Phoebe
Red-eyed Vireo
Blue Jay
American Crows
Northern Rough-winged Swallows
Carolina Chickadee
Tufted Titmouse
White-breasted Nuthatch
Carolina Wren
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Swainsons Thrush - a pair
Hermit Thrush
Wood Thrush
Gray Catbird
Northern Parula
Yellow-throated Warbler
Cerulean Warbler - couldn't have asked for a better view and more
cooperative bird
American Redstarts - also found an active nest
Ovenbird
Louisiana Waterthrush
Common Yellowthroat
Scarlet Tanger
Northern Cardinal
Indigo Bunting
Eastern Towhee
Field Sparrow
Red-winged Blackbird
American Goldfinch
