All,

While hitting all the Amish stores and farms yesterday afternoon, we had two adult Red-headed Woodpeckers flying across Rt. 444 1/4 mile from Hillcrest Orchards. How awesome. The first one puzzled me from a distance, but the second one, closer as we drove, nailed it.

In the countryside north of Berlin and Millersburg, we also had Tree and Barn Swallows, and Turkey Vultures, in kettles and otherwise, were omnipresent, thanks to the farmers cutting hay. We had to have see a couple hundred, but no Black Vultures :(
