Two Open Positions in the Office of Environmental Health
and Safety at Boston College, Chestnut Hill, Mass.
Both positions report to the Department Director.

Fire Safety Officer.   Open 6/1/2000.  Accepting Resumes now.
Primary responsibilities
of the position will be to conduct fire safety inspections, provide
fire safety training,
administer fire extinguisher maintenance program, oversee UST
management program, and
manage compliance with local and state fire codes as well as
applicable OSHA programs.
Requirements include: A.S. degree, BA preferred, 5-10 years
experience, knowledge of
fire safety programs and applicable regulations.

Environmental Health and Safety Officer.  Open 3/27/2000.  Accepting
resumes now.  Primary
responsibilities of the position include management of indoor air
quality investigations,
maintain OSHA programs (respiratory, hazard communication, bloodborne
pathogen, folklift,
confined space, and lockout/tagout), conduct OSHA training programs
and supervise the
asbestos management program.  Requirements include: BA/BS degree in
related field, a
Masters degree is preferred with 5-10 years experience.

Both positions should have strong interpersonal skills with a
demonstrated record of
establishing and maintaining effective and positive working
relationships with a diverse
population both internal and external to the University.  Good
writing skills required.
Computer experience on IBM based system required.   Both candidates
must be willing to
wear a pager and respond to emergencies when on call.
