Information which I have received and would like to pass on.


The University at Albany has a vacancy for a Fire Protection
Specialist.  The incumbent will conduct continuous inspections and
appraisals of facilities with primary emphasis on fire and life
safety.  Coordinate annual fire safety audits and accompany inspector
from Office of Fire Prevention and Control.  Act as the University
Code Coordinator and participate in the new construction and
renovation plan review process.  Coordinate University fire drill
scheduling.  Plan and conduct fire/life safety related training.
Assist in remediation of hazardous materials incidents.  Coordinate
installation, maintenance and inspections of life safety equipment and
systems and maintain related records.

Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in a
technical field with at least 5 years of full time fire safety
experience in a comprehensive fire protection & prevention program
with specific knowledge of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention
& Building Codes and the National Fire Codes.  Candidates with
training skills will be viewed favorably.  Education requirements may
be satisfied by an equivalent combination of knowledge and
experience.  Additional specific training and experience in hazardous
materials management, radiation protection, and/or industrial hygiene
will be highly desirable.  Baseline salary will be $30,000 to
$32,000.  Salary is negotiable based on qualifications and experience
